bury & bloom is a non-profit organization founded in 2018, that fosters sustainability by upcycling unwanted paper waste to create plantable products. bury & bloom currently produces plantable greeting cards and seed coins. a portion of the proceeds are reinvested into environmental education for children. the team has demonstrated that even a new project, on a small scale, can make a big difference.
bury & bloom was created by enactus upei, a group of students who use entrepreneurship to advance the environmental, social, and economic health of canada. we rally the energy, ideas, and passion of students who see business as a way to address social issues.
In march of 2019, the team visited halifax to compete in the enactus regional competition. enactus upei placed 1st in the environmental challenge, 2nd in the youth empowerment challenge, and 3rd in the entrepreneurship challenge with the bury & bloom project.
In may 2019 enactus upei traveled to vancouver to compete in the enactus national competition where the team received the spirit of enactus award.
